A brand-new interview with Yu Suzuki has just dropped over on popular gaming news site Nintendo Life, including some never-before-seen screenshots.
Focusing on the upcoming release of Shenmue III Enhanced, as well as looking back over the original Shenmue III project, the interview covers an awful lot of ground.
It’s a fantastic read and we can’t recommend checking out the full article in its entirety — not least because of how rare it is to get a full interview from the Shenmue creator these days.
But of particular interest is the answer to interviewer Gavin Lane’s question about Shenmue’s future.
On a scale of 1 – 10, what would you say are the chances weβll see more Shenmue? If not in game form, would you continue the story in other media (in the anime, for instance)?
Yes.
Well, it’s not much to go on… but it’s not a “no”, so that’s something! We hope that Yu Suzuki will get to complete his story in game form, but if there’s one thing you can be sure of, it’s that Shenmue fans will be eager and ready to devour the story in whatever form it comes in.
In the meantime, it’s wonderful to hear more details about Shenmue III Enhanced from the creator of Shenmue himself. Read the full article here, and don’t forget to pre-order and wishlist the game.
