Today, Shenmue celebrates it’s 25th anniversary of its release in PAL reigons!
For many of us, this game changed lives, inspired people and taught lessons we carry to this day.
Many of us in the PAL reigons will remember the hype of seeing this game for the first time, be it on the release day or shortly after as Xmas presents. The core memory of turning on the Dreamcast, watching Iwao’s demise and setting off on Ryo’s journey is moment all of us carry to this day.
Thank you to SEGA and Yu Suzuki for creating something more than just a game. On that day, an experience was created, a world was built, a journey at its beginnings and a story that MUST go on!
Happy 25 years Shenmue – the power this franchise has to inspire, influence and go on is something incredibly special.
