While Shenmue fans would probably already expect the game to get a mention, they’d be absolutely right! Shenmue appears at number 7 on the list and is praised for its innovation and incredible attention to detail, particularly the use of real-world weather data recorded and implemented into the game from 1986 meteorological reports.
While we always appreciate seeing Shenmue get the recognition it deserves, the rest of the video also highlights several other impressive video game innovations that were truly ahead of their time. It’s well worth a watch!
