A fan-made environment inspired by the Hazuki Residence from Shenmue.
Recreated in Unreal Engine with a focus on lighting, atmosphere, and game-ready optimization.
Ahmad designed and implemented a modular environment asset pipeline, creating reusable modular kits that were systematically combined to construct a fully optimized, real-time game environment. This approach enabled efficient level assembly, reduced asset redundancy, and improved performance scalability across the project.
The project was completed over an approximately six-week production period, encompassing initial blockout, asset creation, environment assembly, and optimisation.
All assets were created entirely from scratch, with no third-party asset packs used at any stage of production. Hard-surface and organic models were authored in Autodesk Maya and ZBrush, allowing for precise control over topology, scale, and detail. Textures and materials were procedurally created using Substance Designer, enabling efficient material reuse, consistent visual language, and optimized texture memory usage suitable for real-time rendering workflows.
