MSI X470 Gaming Plus Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 2700X 8-Core 16 Thread 3.7 Ghz (Was awarded Best Overall Gaming CPU of 2018 by Toms Hardware)
G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 3200 Frequency
Paid significantly less for the Motherboard and CPU than whats listed here, paid $100 for the Motherboard bundled with the 2700X Processor at Micro Center which was priced at $270 then paid $140 for the Ram. All of which was paired with my Radeon 7970 GPU, 120GB OCZ Vertex SSD, and 3 TB Toshiba P300 HDD (which I also bought recently), Corsair 750w power supply, alot of these items i purchased in 2012 when I originally built this machine.
I am very happy with these upgrades, This processor is an absolute beast, and most bang for the buck for anything out right now, it was a very needed upgrade over my last build which was blue screening for some unknown reason even after down grading from Windows 8.1 to 7. Took out my old AMD FX 8150 and my liquid cooling system that came with the processor and I have to say the Wraith Prism cooling system is incredibly efficient and we used some of the fans from the old liquid cooler radiator so its like a tornado of air flow inside my case now! There is a 200mm intake fan at the front keeping drives cool, a 200mm outtake fan and another 140mm outtake fan on the top and a 120mm intake fan at the rear plus the built in fans on the Processor and my Graphics Card.
I upgraded my OS to Windows 10 finally and later upgrades will include a new GPU and M.2 SSD in a couple years, but this upgrade gets me stable and while I didnt really buy this for gaming, its more than capable now, but this new CPUs strongest area is Workstation power due to all the threads and high processing speed (it can be over clocked to 4.3) which I am going to need as I begin my journey of content creation, which was the main focus of these upgrades surprisingly, just it will also be able to game just fine, so its the best of both worlds. HYPE!
