New Member Introductions

Good evening sirs. Real1 from Sweden here. I'm an old fart at 31, and I'm a huge Nintendo fan although I love all consoles. I was a lurker of the old Dojo for well over 10 years and have been active in the Shenmue community for many many years. Now with the launch of this new site I decided to finally make an account.

Pleased to meet you!
Velkommen!

Hello, everyone, new and old, my name is ShenGCH and Shenmue is the game I attribute to why I still admire and adore games as much as I do to this very day. I signed up to the previous incarnation of the Dojo way back in 2006, at the age of fourteen, and here we are, twelve-and-a-half years later, with Shenmue III and a remaster of the originals on the way.

Let's get sweaty!

Hey everyone in the Dojo! I'm Firat from England/London, I'm preety active in the 500K group on Facebook, I was a former member in the Dojo since 2004 till 2010 under the name Roshen321, I was a lurker but loved the vibes from the members and their topics.

It's an amazing time to be a Shenmue fan, let the good times keep rolling!

Hello everyone,

I am Fayez from Jeddah, Saudia Arabia.
Shenmue to me was the dream project even before it's initial release and I became a huge fan since it's first released in japan.
to me the series is still remains as the greatest videogame to ever grace our world.

I'm Stewart, from the UK. I was previous named 'TheThirdComing' which is not as dirty was it was meant to sound... so I changed it :p

I'm much more of a PlayStation gamer than Sega, but Shenmue offered an experience unlike any other - something I still believe to this day. I bought a cheap Dreamcast as a kid (I remember Shenmue was going for less then £5!) It really captivated me and as soon as I heard of a Shenmue III Kickstarter I've wanted to be involved with the community and make this game a triumph! I intend to spend more time here as the love and appreciation for this game and effort put into the revival from fans and YSnet has become something dear to my heart and proud to be part of.

Hi Everyone! :)

I am Simon originally from Montreal Quebec Canada but now living in Toronto. Shenmue fan since 2000, I have always been on the ShenmueDojo Website but never really posted. With the new website I decided to create an account and get involved in the community a little bit more!

By the way congratulation for the new website! Can't wait for Shenmue I&II remastered!! :)

It’s awesome to see new fans. How did you come about the series? How was your first play through like?
Like a massive amount of people my interest really piqued after the Shenmue 3 announcement. I had known about the game since 2009 but was still a kid and couldn't afford the Dreamcast. In 2014 I got my Dreamcast for a very good deal of $20 from a local pawn shop, my first two years owning it, it was a Crazy Taxi and Soul Calibur box mostly. I liked the idea of Shenmue but playing it seemed overwhelming.

In 2016 after I discovered the antics of Michael Huber of GT fame, I said if this guy is so passionate about this, I gotta play it. So I did, my first time playing was interesting. I was in that bubble of this game is fascinating but I don't get it. I remember failing the old Lady quest at the beginning but as I powered through my play sessions went from being 1-2 hours to almost 5-6 hours, utter immersion. Over the course of time I started to "Get It" and it has actaully changed the way I look at world oddly, I am studying to be a game developer and this game has given me a unique outlook on that pursuit.

This is one of my favorite new user posts in a long time. Thanks for sharing. So happy to see the series affecting people in the same way it did so many years ago.
