A quick fun post for the new site.

What controls are you going to use when the HD releases land?
 
I'll for sure try both. Depending on how the new controls feel you know :) Pretty used to the old ones!
 
I'm definitely aiming to use the new controls exclusively on my first playthrough.

I honestly can't imagine modern controls on Shenmue I and II. It was built around its unique control system after all. I'll probably use classic controls on my first playthrough and then try modern for the second run.
 
In my opinion they could use the improvement, it will be helpful too a lot of new players often get stuck up on the controls.
 
New for first play. Currently doing a slow play of both Dreamcast games, but plan to catch up on Yakuza and other games in my backlog. Won't be playing I+II until III is either out or gone gold if I lose my nerve earlier than intended, haha.

In-between now and next year when I'll run through all three games (!!!!!), I might do a quick play through of Shenmue 2. Want to try using the analogue movement control scheme for the entire game, which I still never have tried for more than a brief moment.
 
I never had a problem with the old controls I thought they were fine. I will try out the new controls just to see what they are like but I don't think I will use them much.
 
It depends on how the new controls are. If they actually implemented full analog control I'll definitely use it. However if they just got lazy like Shenmue 2 on Xbox and just mapped the D-Pad to the stick, I'm not gonna bother.
 
I am pretty sure analog for movements will not feel good while exploring and it will be disastrous while fighting.
but obviously I will use the right analog for camera.

so D-Pad for movements and right analog for camera.
 
I think that the New control scheme won't deactivate the ability to still use the d-pad to move Ryo so I'll definately pick that first.
If I somehow don't like the feel and there is no d-pad then I might switch back to the original one.

Like with Under Defeat or Zero Gunner 2 on-axis rotation, using the B button helps make the analogue movement transition to third-person-looking much more palatable and intuitive.

Also, am I the only who has always used the Run trigger to walk...???
 
I'll give both a shot and then probably stick with new. Being able to control the camera with the second stick not available on Dreamcast will be a great improvement.
