Shenmue leak

Sega doesn't want people viewing the leak of the shenmue HD collection because it's missing the updated patch. Why wouldn't they put the finished product on the disk? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a physical copy? I wanted the physical copy of the game because I wanted to have it for next Gen systems. Will this patch be available on the ps5 and Xbox 2?

This has been answered in another topic but I'll answer before locking this.

Discs go into production a month before release and thus had the version ready at the time allowing developers to make patches if needed.

There is definately a day one patch coming. Sega have confirmed this. Visit Random Shenmue thoughts or What's Shenmue part 3 topic on here.
