Well let's say the Sony deal expires in 2024. Why would Deep Silver do a direct port for XSX of a PS4 game that clearly had it's technical limitations? I would think MS would want some "enhanced for XSX" features that make the game more appealing to owners of next gen hardware (by that time it would be well established as current gen, and PS4 would be last gen).I'd imagine they'd just do a straight port with minimal upgrades like the PS version. I think all we got there was an uncapped frame rate now brute forcing to 60fps and some improved pop in
Gamepass would be a great move IMO. 1 and 2 were on there ages back IIRC.
Also put all 3 as freebies on PS+. That's a no brainer for me, especially after the success VF5US had.
For example, the recent batch of old XBOX games that were made backwards compatible on XSX, they received updated resolutions and performance enhancements.
I just find it hard to believe that Deep Silver and/or Ys Net pick up the game that late and upgrade it for XBOX. I don't see any value. Outside of the fact that you want it to happen (I would buy it too because I own a X1S), what would be the value in reaching the smaller userbase of the XBOX brand? As someone mentioned earlier, Sega isn't even bothering with S1 and S2 on Switch, which is the best selling system at the moment.

The games are available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and all of them support Auto HDR, while many get a resolution enhancement boost. Additionally, FPS Boost has been added for 11 of the titles added today and 26 from the existing library. The third big piece of news was that FPS Boost is launching now on Xbox Cloud Gaming for 33 titles, including Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, among others.
Anyway, everything is impossible to speculate on this series because at every step of the way we are left in the dark for prolonged periods on what the future plans are. Even with the Anime, we've been given absolutely minimal information. I would love to be kept in the loop and have some fun updates on stuff. After all this time we finally got S3 to happen, now we're getting the anime, we're getting lots of collectibles, but we still really don't know the future of the series is.
Still not sure if Shenmue is back, if it's in limbo, if the anime is to test the market, everything is still wait and see. I'm throwing all my money at everything Shenmue but I don't know if it's making any difference. Someone tell us what's happening.
