Shenmue 1&2 version differences

I’ve noticed the PS4 version of the Shenmue rerelease seems to have better sound emulation compared to the PC and Xbox versions. If you want to hear what I mean take look at a PC and PS4 play though of Shenmue 1 and listen to both Ryo’s footsteps and the music in his room. The PC and Xbox sounds very different and quite a bit of worse while the PS4 sounds identical to the Dreamcast. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed the difference and if so is there any other differences in the modern ports?

About other differences in HD ports, im not sure if you mean on the technical or the artistic side. For the latter, @BlueMue has a nice entry for Shenmue1 in his blog.

Thanks for the reply! That’s a really interesting read but I was asking if anyone knows of any changes specifically in the modern PC, PS4, and Xbox releases. Other than the sound difference I noticed.
