Does anyone collect these? I just purchased one for the first game for 24.99, apparently it has detailed information about the NPCs which is why I wanted it. Apparently the Shenmue II prima guide is very expensive for some reason. Does anyone have a copy of this and would you recommend it at the current prices?
 
I have a copy. f you are collecting, it is pretty nice. The Shenmue II Prima Guide is not as complete as the first one, as it only contains profile information for the main characters. If you are needing a guide for the game, it is a nice guide, but you can probably everything from it online.
 
I've got the one for Shenmue 1 and it is very good. Every NPC is detailed with a little Bio

Shenmue 2's is hugely expensive but along a similar line
 
I got mine a few years back at a random mall...I think for $10. :)
 
Yeah, I don't why they skyrocketed in price. I am currently building my collection, and noticed that the Shenmue II Prima Guides are getting very expensive. Saw one for around $90.
 
Yeah that one is ridiculous.

Cheapest I've seen it here is around £70.and that was on eBay
 
I keep looking in online lots and in stores for more copies. I think the one I purchased was from a Slacker's. They are a midwest store, mostly in malls I believe. I don't know if they are anywhere else in the US.
 
Yep also $90.00, Amazon has one as cheap as $49.99 from a 3rd party seller. All the retro game shops here are overcharging as well for Shenmue and for some reason the Xbox version seems to collect a premium compared to the Dreamcast version when it used to be the opposite. Very Bizarre. As much as I'd love to also have Shenmue II's Prima guide, I can't justify 90 dollars for it. That's pure price scalping.

Of some interest, I did check with Prima Games a week or so ago to check if they were planning on releasing anything for Shenmue I & II. They are not. :(

=( . At least I will have the first one on order now and $24.00 wasn't too awful. I went to pricebusters the other day to see what Prima guides they had, and I was advised if they had the Shenmue version, it would be in the collector case so it appears that the scalping has started here as well.

That's a shame it may have driven the price down of the old ones.

I've seen odd book stores sometimes stock them online. Issue is you can't see them so you may get one that's had a battering.

I have the guide for Shenmue 1, but the Shenmue 2 guide is like $100 which is kinda bs so I don't have it
 
It's utter madness. $100 for something like that, while collectable is stupid.
 
If anyone here has a spare Prima guide for Shen 2 that they wouldn't mind selling for a reasonable price hmu lol
 
Your best bet would be to hit up some local stores in your area that carry video games. You might find one for super cheap, like I did.
 
Hey guys,

Does anyone have a scanned PDF of the Shenmue II Xbox Prima guide? I really want to use it but it's prohibitively expensive to buy a physical copy. Sorry if we're not supposed to ask for stuff like that but I see the OSTs up for download and figure it's similar to that (legally), right?
