[Potential Spoilers] Shenmue III Preview Event

If they never once pay off on a Xiuying/Niao Sun face off then I might be disappointed...Firey Red vs Graceful Heroic Blue. Makes so much sense! Do it Yu! (if not in III then somewhere down the series)

Also, still curious as to who is gonna voice her (NS I mean)
 
The building is not necessarily the castle area that was formerly Baisha, right? It may seem like a safe assumption, but who knows. It looks like it could be part of Niaowu. There are supposedly four big bosses in the game and Niaosun would seemingly preside in or near Niaowu. It's possible you clear this section of the game and then proceed to Baisha/castle area.

That would be cool, but sadly if it happens, I doubt the scenario would play out where Ryo gets to watch.
 
A meeting between Niao Sun and Xiuying seems possible, due to them both having a connection to Ziming. But not only that, Xiuying was presented as this unbeatable badass in the second game, so having her get easily beaten by Niao Sun would really give us a sense of the kind of threat we're dealing with.

Could you imagine if they met somehow and the camera just pans to a limp Xiuying on the ground as Niao Sun slowly struts away with a smile on her face?
 
I was thinking the same except the last part since I don't know how a fight would play out between the two for sure. I forgot that Ziming is still a factor in all of this, so this is something of interest indeed. I mean it would make sense for a confrontation between the two to happen. I was also thinking that it would make sense since Ryo will have nothing on Niao Sun at this point just like with Lan Di, and he can really use the assist from Xiuying right now.

Not a fan of the redesign.

The old one had an air of old school european aristocracy, a more revealing dress, looked more mature yet sexier, had a more mysterious aura, it was a cooler design IMO.
The new one looks like a red Xiuying, looks bland.

The background looks ominous tho

Thats true but if you want to be picky, it was just a fancy red version of Xiuying's blue dress.
And it doesnt even look like that in the 2019 version, now it just looks like a normal female chinese style dress
+ super fancy shoes and gloves. And the weird wild lions mane hair style is now a completely normal hair style.
Its a pretty woman in a pretty dress. She could be a host in the casino.
Thats something completely different than the old art works. We saw way more unique designs of her before.
It still can be a cool character if she has a cool story and voice but this fancy 2019 re design doesnt convince me yet.
 
I'm not too concerned with how NS looks until i see her in game, I (pretty much) like everything I've seen of shenmue 3 so far and i don't expect her character design to be any different. of course they mostly always look more exciting in concepts or posters that's what they're there for.

Relevant info:
- You have to wait to a certain time for something to happen like in I & II. Time Skip option confirmed
- They start from the beginning, arriving to Bailu to discover that some thugs has been assaulting houses
- They loved the turtle race minigame
- They complain about the Stamina System and also about the menu navigation, they said it is outdated
- Remarcable graphic improvements to previous versions
- High points visuals in the lighting and scenarios. Also they said that the transitions between animations are still not fluid but much better than before.
- They complain about the shot composition being "old style" but you can see pretty panoramic views with them
- They seems to like the English dub
- They higlight through the article that it is an slow pace game that will satisfy old fans, they also said that the combat system is challening

The long flowing hair, clothing and giant hat were probably a pain in the ass to animate.

A shame because she looks great here. But I also really like the new version. They nailed the eyes in both versions which is most important to me.

She can still be a flunky boss, ala Yuan (notice its the same fighting style as Yuan as well?).

And I never said she WOULDN'T fight, I said she's not the fighting type; like Shozo Mizuki.
