It's been more than four years since I last posted in this thread and my top games have changed pretty significantly after replaying many of them. Oh, and I'm going to start including collections, but I may notate my favorite in that collection in the comment for it. Here's my updated list:
1. Uncharted Collection (PS4)
Still holding out in the number 1 spot is Uncharted with the second game being at the top. With my interest in modern gaming waning significantly, I don't see this changing... well.... ever. Why is it at the top though? I absolutely loved Indiana Jones growing up. The mystery of rediscovering ancient ruins or going after a mystical artifact nearly forgotten through time has only become more intriguing to me as I've aged. Tomb Raider helped continue that and Uncharted was a massive contributor. I'm also constantly watching treasure hunting documentary shows. The entire series has anywhere from good to incredible writing. Jaw dropping action scenes are abundant. The gameplay is fun and engaging... the thrill of kicking a bad guy in the face as he tries climbing up to where you're at. I mean... this series is just top notch. I sincerely hope rumors are true and we get another on PS5.
2. Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4)
Ah, Mass Effect. I had played this starting with the 2nd and moved directly into the 3rd right when the 3rd originally released on PS3. I remembered loving it but then it fell by the wayside of time. Fast forward to when they re-released it in the Legendary Edition on PS4 and it was basically all I played in 2021 for single player gaming. Took me nearly a year to replay all four games (Andromeda played separately obviously) and after replaying, the series easily takes it's place in the second spot. An incredible immersive universe to explore. Good writing and fun gameplay make this a must have for any sci-fi fans.
3. Resident Evil Remake (Gamecube / PS4)
I had been a huge fan of the Resident Evil series from it's start on PS1 all the way through RE5 on PS3 with it's incredible co-op and action. I was in the camp of those that preferred Resident Evil's move towards action during the PS2/3 days and didn't like it at all when it went first person horror only. Thus, I'm not a fan of the modern releases. Remake is still my favorite in the series. The graphics shown for Gamecube back in the day made my jaw hit the floor and I bought the system specifically for it. Still an incredible game to play.
4. Shenmue HD Collection & 3 (PS4)
This is the Shenmue Dojo. We all know it's special and why. I won't go into too many specifics but I found it incredible to find this community during the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter. I am honored to have been fortunate enough to be part of making Shenmue 3 happen and consider myself lucky to have been part of a once in a lifetime hype train for what was widely considered a dormant or even dead franchise. We can only hope to one day see some kind of conclusion to Ryo's journey.
5. Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Collection (PS4)
Never in a million years did I think this collection would happen, especially after Konami was dead for all intents and purposes. Getting to replay my childhood favorites in glorious HD... legally? It's so incredible. I thought these would be stuck on original systems or in Emulation for the rest of eternity. So glad to have this in my collection. Proud to say I completed each game earning the Platinum trophy.
Ok... with the top five out of the way, I'm going to simply list the remaining ones with no images or blurbs. It's getting to be lengthy and there are so many that deserve a nod. The rest in no particular order:

Ok... with the top five out of the way, I'm going to simply list the remaining ones with no images or blurbs. It's getting to be lengthy and there are so many that deserve a nod. The rest in no particular order:
- Jurassic Park (Genesis) - I'd love a Cowabunga like collection for these.
- Zelda Twilight Princess (Gamecube) - Still waiting on a Switch port.
- Sonic Origins Collection (PS4) - They should have added Sonic Spinball.
- Tomb Raider [2013 reboot] (PS4) - I'd also like an HD collection of the PS1 and 2 games.
- The Wticher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4/5) - Hoping the new game is just as good.
- Dino Crisis 1 & 2 (PS1) - I'd love a reboot of this series in modern graphics.
- ICO (PS2)
- Prince of Persia Sands of Time (PS2)
- A Plague Tale series (PS5)
- Burnout Paradise (PS3/4)
