Yu Suzuki listed as a Co-Director of 'Kingdom Hearts Dark Road' in ending credits?

This is very out of nowhere and confusing if it's what it appears to be.

So, the latest Kingdom Hearts mobile game 'Dark Road' finished service a few days ago. I was catching up on the story on youtube, eventually saw the end credits and was hit with this.



Yu Suzuki as in OUR Yu Suzuki? I tried to see if there are any other people by that name at Square but couldn't find anything. We know that Yu is working on mobile games at the moment so it makes sense. Can anybody find anything to clarify?

This is kinda insane to me. YS working with Square Enix, albeit on a mobile game would be huge in it's own right.

Interesting find. According to Moby Games, Yu Suzuki also worked as a Game Designer on Kingdom Hearts Unchained X and Puyo Puyo Tetris. With this in mind, I can only assume that it’s a different Yu Suzuki.

Welp, whoever he is, looks like he got a promotion in the last few years! Weird that I can't find anything else about another game designer or director called Yu Suzuki though

Either YS has been doing this in secret for years or 'Yu Suzuki' of SE is just a lowly young staff member with no other credits working his way up the ranks

It looks to be a different Yu Suzuki whose name uses different kanji for "Yu" (悠羽 rather than 裕).
