Using Twitch to get more into Shenmue 1&2

As we all know Twitch is very good for showing off games to the public via live streaming. Of course the new releases get the most attention and can be very good for marketing that even developers send out early copies in advance to popular streamers in order to market the game and gain notice. With Shenmue 1&2 being almost 20 years old it's unlikely that it can reach the heights of new game releases that garner huge attention with millions of viewers watching worldwide because these games are already known and available in original form but I believe Twitch is still an excellent opportunity to showcase Shenmue 1&2 especially if popular streamers play it. This is also due to current gen systems being easier to stream compared to the Dreamcast and original Xbox.

If you didn't know, DSP who is a controversial and popular streamer/youtuber is planning to play Shenmue 1&2 for the first time when it comes out as he confirmed in a tweet (), this is exciting because he's typically known for being bad at games, gets a lot of media attention resulting in hilarious "This is how you don't play ___ game" videos onto YouTube by his viewers, he gets around 500 to 800 viewers for certain games so it should be cool to watch with new audiences seeing the game possible for the first time and interacting with each other on that chat.

We should aim to market this game as much as possible!

I don't think sticking Shenmue with DSP is a very good thing to be honest. He's just gonna trash the game and the haters would just make videos making fun of him. I don't think this circlejerk toxic hate is good for Shenmue regardless of how much exposure it gets the game.

Something more akin to the Super Replay from GameInformers guys that did the playthrough of Shenmue would be a much better bet. But yes with the advent of social media, when the collection comes out it would be a good avenue to spread the Shenmue love.

Sounds good. Are you aware Peter does a weekly stream on a Thursday for the Dojo? There are a few others that stream on Twitch as well - thecyberbear and A1Major are two that spring to mind.

I'll be sure to tune into this unless I'm engrossed in the games myself.

Since there's nothing to tweet about on the 3rd anymore, once Shenmue 1 & 2 comes out we should have a stream-athon lol. Since the PS4 has a built in streaming service it'd be easy.
