I recall in 2nd playthrough you unlocked skip cutscenes (HD ports) among the other extras. Im not really sure tho...

I remember me goin a second go and yay! I could skip event scenes (shift key hold maybe was?) or Im mixing things up again omg

Many, I would assume. Why does it matter?

You can skip all of the intro cutscenes in Shenmue leading up to the first bit of gameplay. You can skip repeated cutscenes in Shenmue II, like when you failed a QTE or fight. After finishing the game you can skip almost everything on repeated playthroughs. This is done by B button presses and it's how it has been since the originals.
