Shenmue - Reclaiming the Path - Release Today?

Dear All,

I was wondering if anybody had any news on that excellent looking fan made Shenmue game (Reclaiming the Path). I thought the release date was supposed to be today, but I cannot find any information on it. Has it been postponed?

Do you know a source, where I can find the current release date of this future master piece?
Is sping 2025 still valid?

Just a lot going on in my life atm.
I'm hoping for Spring 2026 now.
Part of the delay is the ambition of the project.
I don't want to rush it out like DOS 2.0 that wasn't quite ready.
It's still being worked on regularly. I just don't want to commit to 12 hours a day like I was. I have other responsibilities that I'm not keeping up with.
 
I hope the most of the things which are going on are possitive! There are some times in the year where I can hardly play videogames, although I barely have any other hobbies. Hard to imagine creating such an ambitious project like Reclaiming the path.

Spring 2026 sounds nice, I mean, we waited 18 years for Shenmue 3 (Dreamcast --> PS4/Epic)), so what is one year?;)

Mostly positive. I hope I didn't come across as annoyed in my response.
It's hard to tell in internet forums when someone is pleasant or mad. :)
I wish I could work on it and not have bills to pay, but that's how it goes.
It's mostly taking so long because I'm building a lot of new environments.

Op, have you considered a go fund me/Kickstarter or does the legals cause problems at that level?

As a non Kickstarter backer but life long shenmue fan. I would 100% put my money where my mouth is knowing it goes directly to funding your time.
