Sega to spend $1bn... Maybe it's on shenmue 4?

Clearly, Sega now has to see that regardless of the numbers sold, Shenmue was not a failure. It just had some really bad luck. I believe they have to know and certainly see now if they didn't pull the plug on the Dreamcast in America and PS2 didn't cuck it that I think Shenmue 2 could have made that money back for sure. I just seem to think that.

And if they aren't. Shame on them for making money off a product they don't feel can make them money. That's just my take..

I don't think they've managed to break even on Shenmue at all yet. At least merchandise (someone's gonna post that line, aren't they?) chips away at it a few quid at a time. Though that's kinda like using a chisel to put a road through the middle of Everest.

I do wonder what the real numbers are.
