Sega is questioning the value of NFTs citing them as "boring" and saying that they aren't a fun way to entertain yourself. Yu Suzuki was interested in NFTs as proven by his collaboration with Virtua Fighter/Sega & Oasyx but without Sega backing it; more than likely this will end Suzuki's NFT experiment unless he was to go down the Tomonobu Itagaki route which has not been beneficial to Suzuki's former protege.

Yu Suzuki is interested in cash flow. Incoming sources being from NFT, animation, games, whatever. He wasnt experimenting with blockchain but Sega and all the other companies on the same venture (Bandai Namco, Square Enix, ..) and Yu was simply a consultant. And a high profile figure to put his signature, to bold the value of the tokens based on Virtua Fighter. VF tokens without Yu-san blessing its like a fake merch bought on harbor market.
With this clear, surely if the Oasys ecosystem gets folded, Yu Suzuki will fold the project too. He's practical, dogmatic and if this gets the Shenmue Online path the solution will be the same: to be over.
