I wasn't going to get it but when I saw the Resident Evil 4 Remake Steelbook Edition had a Slipcase I caved in! It's a GAME exclusive which in recent years has meant you get a standard Edition of the game, then a Steelbook as a bonus. Put I don't like Steelbooks on my shelf without all the PS Logos & Age Rating info - They just look sort of unofficial blank.

I popped in my GAME store today and it was the last one they had! I'm currenty replaying the series with my friend already. We recently beat the HD version of the original so I don't want to jump into it just yet. But I'm happy to know I have it there ready.

Credit to Capcom for making the series so accessible! Having so many RE games on modern consoles is a joy. The only one really missing is Code Veronica - Which is backwards compat on Xbox Systems digitally. The accessibility has really made the series grow on me, it's now among my favourites! Another series which has benefitted with Remakes & Remasters is the Yakuza series! I want more of this!

Awesome collection of Resident Evil games. It really used to be my number 1 series from the original through RE5. Capcom stumbles significantly with their games for a while but really seemed to be making a comeback. Sadly, with the way they've handled some things recently, I'm skipping all 2023 releases from them. In fact, the only thing that could potentially make me buy another Capcom game would be a Dino Crisis remake.

That's not entirely all Capcom's fault that I'm not buying their titles, but I've found I'm just sick of modern gaming. I constantly find that I'm in replay mode. And the games that I am interested in are so far out, I don't even know if they'll be released on PS5. Games like Mass Effect 5, new Tomb Raider, Ninja Turtles Last Ronin, Witcher 4, Witcher 1 remake, etc. They are all practically a generation away and that's unacceptable from a gaming standpoint. It's really turned me off of gaming in general.

Honestly, I think since RE7 Capcom has hit a resurgence with the series. Admittedly I felt RE Village was over the top in comparison but I still enjoyed it. I think with such demand we will get a Dino Crisis Remake in-time. Good thing too because I went back to the game last year and really struggled. Most of the game was about navigating to find over-elaborate keycards, Dinosaurs just happened to be obstacles within the game. I did enjoy DC2 much more though!

I didn't like DMC5 much if I am being honest and I did try Monster Hunter World which has a weird system to where in order to play with people online you had to complete th mission once already 1st... this just baffles me because I wanted to experience the mission with my friend in the 1st place - No idea how the game is so people with that snag in the games formula.

As for upcoming games, there is a lot I'm interested in still. The biggest is probably Final Fantasy XVI, which I am hesitant on to it's action gameplay and Hard-Fantasy style but it's probably the only Day One Purchase I have in mind. Yakuza/Like A Dragon series in peak form and I look forward to the next set of games they're planning.

Agreed. RE7 was one of my favourite games of the last generation! I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. It recaptured the feeling of the classic games perfectly, but in a more modern way.

I haven't finished Village yet, I enjoyed the amount I played, but it didn't have the same impact 7 did. It wasn't so great.

Dino Crisis 2 is my favorite of the series. My wish that will never happen is that in the midst of remaking Dino Crisis, they mesh the first two games into one massive title with additional areas. I'd really enjoy meshing the two and having it play as the following:

- Keep the suspense of the first.
- Keep the action of the second.
- Ignore the third.
- Keep Regina the main character with Dylan being secondary. (Don't write them as insufferable entitled morons as so many characters today are)
- Allow Dylan to be playable after beating the game.
- Allow for two player co-op action a la RE5 (both online and off)
- More varied dinosaur encounters

A game I failed to mention in my original post is FF7 Remake 2. That one might be out by Christmas, but will more than likely get delayed. Looking forward to continuing the story.

I'd be interested in a DC Remake as I said I think it needs a lot of reworking in the puzzle/combat ratio. Also wouldn't be opposed to them continuing from where DC2 left off afterwards!

Excited for FF7 Rebirth too... if a little trepidatious... there will be big changes and... well... all we can do is hope!

Haven't bought Vinyl for a while, seeing both Sonic Colours & FF3's Vinyl dirt cheap tempted me! I also bought the PS4 version of Sonic Colours Ultimate cheap - I played it on Xbox One.

The biggest win is Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars! I've been on the look out for this one for years & finally snagged one on eBay for a decent-ish price. I don't often get GBA games, most that I own are tied to franchises from other systems. Will I play it on raw hardware... probably not but it is one I wantes for my collection - I have the Anime DVD series too which arguably is better than the games High recommendation!

Not sure on Neo World Ends With You... still a little raw they released it on PS4 but not the Remaster of the original game!

Sega is apparently spending a billion dollars on the Angry Birds studio. Makes me said that THAT game is worth a billion dollars to Sega (or anyone for that matter) but Shenmue isn't.

I'm of a mindset anymore that I believe a publisher caring about its series fanbases equates to that of politicians caring what their constituents think. In short... they don't care and there's nothing anyone can do that will make them care aside from not buying their products. The only thing that matters to them is their wallet.

They already own Shenmue, why would the have to pay nothing for licenses they have. To me they act the same with Shenmue than Square with Final Fantasy VII Remake. Its a Sega ace card in the sleeve, it has to be dealed like the one of the best assets and handled in "special" ways.

Problem with Sega Sammy Corp. probably sounds familiar to you. There's still internal "factions" with their own vision on where and how the company should evolve. This brings the eternal ego clash and like you said, fans losing and IPs being forgotten (not the case of Shenmue tho)

i bought southpark and the stick of truth, on the ps3.

i fancied replying both stick of truth and the fractured but whole, as they were fun and i'm a south park fan.

but ultimately i want to get my hands star wars jedi survivor.. that and bomb rush cyberpunk are the only 2 games of 2023 i want.

My Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster arrived! Pretty excited about this though I wish S-E made it more accessible! I still haven't played FF2 & FF3 so I can see myself playing them on here.

Street Fighter 6 Demo.

Much to my surprise, this doesn't suck!!! I played about 45 minutes of the demo both 1 on 1 combat and the open world mode and was pleasantly surprised that I wanted to play any more. First impressions I'd give it about an 8/10. SF 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 all like 6/10 or lower, so I'm very shocked.

The slow and stuttering framerate combat style of the previous games isnt as pronounced and it works well in this title. It feels like they finally made something with legs after all these decades.

Check it out if you like fighting games. Free on Xbox, PS and Steam.

I got myself another Dreamcast. This time a us console because most of the games in my collection are NTSC US titles. I am also about worried that using the boot disc to often could kill of the laser of my origina pal DC I got in 2000.

I also purchased the gog version of Splinter Cell.

i really wanted to play the new star wars game, jedi survivor but as the game has bugs and needs fixing. i'm going to wait for a bit before playing it
.. so i bought bought zelda breath of the wild for the switch.

i have a pretty terrible track record with zelda games. i played all the zelda gamecube games back in the day, but couldn't get into them and gave up. i gonna really try with this one lol

Ever since getting the Switch at launch, I was surprised to find that each of my kids have enjoyed Zelda as much as I do (favorite Nintendo IP). Thus, I decided to go all out on the upcoming Zelda game coming this week. Game releases come and go and many of us can't remember the excitement for most games that we had when they were about to release. For the new Zelda, I decided to ensure the kids remember receiving the game.

The game itself will be in a treasure chest that we've had for clue hunts. It's filled with fake gold coins and jewels. The game will be accompanied by replica rupees and heart container necklaces (for my daughters) while my son will get Link and Zelda figures that I picked up a while ago in anticipation of this release. This will hopefully keep each kid occupied while others explore the new game as it's single player.

I got Dashin' Desperados on the Genesis 2 weeks ago and have played a bit of it here and there. Lots of fun and a bit challenging, I got stuck on the penultimate level of the penultimate world, as a mechanic that is supposed to work, didn't work.

Going to get back at it soon and hopefully can beat it outright :)

Horizon Forbidden West - Burning Shores. Well, kinda playing it. Going to rush through it when I'm in the right frame of mind. Just haven't be mentally up for playing video games recently. Exhausted with work and the kids and don't have much time to play anymore.

I didn't even realise the new Zelda game was being released soon. Loved Breath of the Wild but not sure I would get this one because of the time commitment.
