ign says they are also going to release something called Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. The collection, which includes the first 3 games. i imagine its going to be an updated version of the ps3's HD collection?

going by that japanese gambling machine footage from years ago of mgs snake eater, i expect this game to look awesome.
the master collection news also sounds good, if they fix the frame rate and add modern controls as an option, i would be happy. other than that, the HD collection still holds up quite well.
i know there is a lot of hate for mgs4 but i really hope they give that game an update and add it to any future Vol.2 collection. i love mgs4.

The long-rumored Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has finally been announced. Konami's remake was revealed at today's PlayStation Showcase alongside the Master Gear Solid: Master Collection featuring the first three games.
going by that japanese gambling machine footage from years ago of mgs snake eater, i expect this game to look awesome.

Nothing grabbed me from the Sony showcase though I didn't expect anything to heavy to begin with.
The new Giant Squid developer game and the new game from night in the woods team looked okay.
That MGS 3 Remake looked cool but idk didn't get me hyped or anything cause that was the last MGS I played and I beat it over 20 years ago already.
A VF6 announcement would have done pretty good here I think but it may have gotten less attention with the rebooted MK having already been announced this week.
Some other random ideas a Persona 6 announcement or something from Fumitos new game would have gotten me super excited.

This is what I expect from a Volume 2. MGS4 has been stuck on the PS3 for far too long and if they need to remove/tweak a few of the references/liscensed products I'm all for it. I've heard leak rumours say it will include Metal Gear Rising instead... which seems stupid to me but thatgame has gotten a lot more popular in recent years.
There is a listing on the PlayStation Store and... I hope these are just early concept images... MGS1 looks untouched and not upscaled. If this is the case I would rather they just release it as a part of the PS1 Games that appear on PS+ Them games are emulated, upscaled & can even be stetched to wide screen - That's all I want. If it looks this bad I will just emulate it elsewhere...Still, I am happy to see MGS2/3 HD Collection gamse reach modern systems. I have little interest in the MGS3 Remake, I still see it as a needless indulgence. All I ever want is the original games ported and upscaled to modern TV standards an with this Master Collection we get that (Despite MGS1's quality still questionable). So they can do what they will with MGS3R, as long as I have my Upscaled port, I'm happy.

I doubt they'll do it, because apparently it's just a port of the HD Collection version, but I would love for the boss rush mode to be included in Snake Eater this time around. Still have no idea why they removed it. The amount of time I sunk into that mode back in the day - I daren't even think about it. Almost as much as the story mode, I think.

is that image of vol.2 a mock up or is it real? because i would love to own mgs4 on ps5.
one thing i'm really hoping is that with vol.1/2, is that they add japanese voice acting with english subs as an option, like shenmue 1/2 (ps4). ive always wanted to play all the mgs games in japanese. going by youtube clips the mgs games in japanese have a different tone/feel.

Yeah I made it last night
The PS3 is a very inaccessible system these days, it's time MGS4 was released elsewhere.I'm not expecting anything else different from the versions of MGS2 & 3 we got in the PS3/360 HD Collection - So no Ape Escape Tie-in Mini-Game. Which honestly, I can get over, I just want the core game upscaled to 4k/60FPS.
The good news it does mean we will get the MSX versions of the original Metal Gear 1 & 2 aswell!

You could buy VR Missions on the PSN Store and it worked! It's actually a lot of fun - especially the 10 Mystery Missions where they really goof off!the official sony website says mgs master collection vol.1 will contain:

I just hope that MGS1 is upscaled... I would love to replay it on my PS5 - I haven't touched the MGS series after how disappointing MGS5 was.
Also, if you haven't played the MSX version of Metal Gear 2 I highly recommend it! Metal Gear 1 is a bit generic but MG2 has the atmosphere and characterisation we love from the series.

Recently replaced my PS3 HDD with 7200RPM and did a fury of purchases including MGS HD and MGS+VR missions on PSN when they thretened to shut down last summer haha. Oh well, still awesome to see!
Very much hope for MGS Vol 2 to have Portable Ops. Never got a PSP and also was just a hair late to getting a PSTV for playing MGSPO+ with a DualShock 3. I know the story wasn't canon/retconned but still believe the 6th gen MGS engine to be the best ever outside of Shenmue. Sidenote; honestly one big reason I love Twin Snakes! Aside from the easy difficulty not bothering me, but also because it is entirely logical a different director--especially a special guest director--to have their own style and vision (truly a "duh, no shit" moment for me... I digress!)
Finally found a Model 1 Saturn at my favorite retro game shop in Chicago. Only place I trust to buy a system which wasn't owned by a friend or in mint boxed condition* because I know they're really great at refurbishing. Same place where I got my current PS2 and Wii. Soon i'll be selling my ebay'd Model 2, which I made an exception to my rule: buying without box and as-is, 15 years ago when I was only mildly curious to play NHL All Star 98, NiGHTS, VF2 and Sonic 3D. Got lucky with finding Panzer Dragoon, D and Enemy Zero and Sonic Jam in wild. Might finally drop for Burning Rangers and Sonic R with some money I have coming to me in a few weeks... maybe even Deep Fear (ehh doubtful?)
Anyways, I also sought Resident Evil because I'm OCD/like having my favorites 1-3 and Veronica on the same gamepad and control scheme (Zero and REmake on Gamecube/PS4, RE4+REmake2 on PS4). Bringing me to my random gaming thought:

regarding playstation removing the metal gear solid had collection on the ps store because of copyright issues..
i was just wondering.. nearly every game needs an online update now, do you guys think that we might get to the point in the future where playstation and xbox block older, physical game discs from working on their consoles via an update? they could do it under the guise that gamers need to pay for a newer version etc.

capcom is taking votes on which resident evil game to remake next.
personally i think RE:zero has a good story and lots of remake potential but going by the poll i saw on ign, it seems like code veronica is winning.
edit. i just want to add, i really like how gaming companies are starting to listen to fans. the upcoming mgs snake eater remake was also apparently based on fan requests for the game.
