Only new ideas allowed! Good and bad!

A top trump card game with shenmue characters that can be played with npcs. You pass them on the street and an icon shows they have cards. You can face off against them. 5 cards vs 5 cards (similar to Street fighter 4 3ds street pass feature).

Remote control car race.

Angry birds + Shenmue = Angry Dou Niu

Kids throw water balloons at Rio and he has to dodge and hit them

NPCs to play go and/or Chinese chess with.
(With increasing levels of IA, possibly with small prizes to collect for winning some.)
->Maybe a new evening activity to do with Shenhua if she know/learn those games ?

Cooking and expanding the food system this way.
(Would work in tandem with a mentioned system of food consumption,
being able to boost move training efficiency.)

As for more arcade or betting games, I don't know.
Maybe some new original short games ?
I somehow want them to surprise me about such content.

It would be cool if you could take photos and they would appear on a photo board. If the towns residents are in the picture they come and look at it. Maybe have the townspeople take their own pictures and they have a monthly content for the best picture.

Id love a cooking mini game.

A 100 meter sprint race using the battle rally as a template

Chess

The punch out game but with an npc as the opponent. (similar to when you face someone at darts in Shenmue 2)

Im probably in the minority but i really like the mechanical physical mini games more than the arcades.

^ This. Was really hoping we’d see it in Shenmue 3. I feel like it would lend itself really well to a side quest. Some guy challenges Ryo and Ryo’s ready to kick his ass before realizing that the guy is actually challenging him to a round of QTE fighter. Naturally, after losing, the guy challenges Ryo to a real fight and gets his ass handed to him.

There could be trading card games, meaning Ryo would have to save up a small fortune if he wants to collect them all and then enter a tournament.

The dining and cooking ideas would be great; giving Ryo the chance of food buffs, useful for easier training and experience farming.

More arcade and casino games. There were darts in the first two games, and slot machines in the second one if I'm not mistaken, but since Ryo's probably still going to be underage, he may or may not have to meet certain standards in order to gain access to some of them.

The RC car race idea would be a great addition too, such as the case with Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1.

An arena/coliseum-esque tournament, where you have to battle multiple opponent at once and gain fame and rare items.

And there's probably more on my mind, but I'll have to think whether or not they're going to make the cut. Once again, I'll revisit the thread if I think about something and share my further thoughts.

That would be genius! I'd love it if you could play Ren at a game in the arcade. That would spark some hilarious banter I'm sure. Maybe you could even play Shenhua haha

How about playing 'go fish' with a table of Ryo, ren, shenhua, shuei, joy, wong and fang mei.

As I have stated in previous posts, I think that having minigames that capture the essence of Shenmue is better than just having minigames for the sake of it. To that end, I would flesh out the fishing minigame from Shenmue III to be more in line with Final Fantasy XV. Also, I would make collecting herbs more meaningful by adding an in-depth alchemy system based on Taoist principles. Finally, I would add more minigames that are based on actual Xiaolin training such as "Iron Shirt" or "Forty-Nine postures of the I-Chin Ching."

In terms of additional minigames, I would add a port of Virtua Fighter V: Final Showdown to arcades. Seeing how Virtua Fighter and Shenmue are intrinsically linked, this should be a no-brainer. Other minigames I would add would be minigames that originated in China. Such minigames would include Mahjong, Wei Qi, Xiangqi (象棋), and Pai Gow (牌九). Finally, I would add the siege minigame that we were promised during the Shenmue III Kickstarter promotion.

I know all of this would be an expensive endeavor to implement, but I think this would not only make Shenmue IV a phenomenal game but distinguish itself from its main competitor Ryu ga Gotoku. What I loved about Shenmue Chapter One: Yokosuka was that the minigames and the narrative were so closely dovetailed with one another.

It always struck me as a little odd that all players were able to do with fish and herbs is trade/sell them, especially given that eating now plays such an important role in the series.

Shenhua seemed to spend most of her time in Bailu cooking and is known to have experience using herbs as medicine. I can’t help but feel that both ‘mini-games’ would have worked better if there had been an option to give the fish and herbs to Shenhua so that she could prepare meals and curative herbs that refilled stamina.

In addition to a return of darts, I wouldn't mind something like some spin on battle rally or maybe full pool.

If nothing else, I at least hope they'd add what appears to be two unused mini-games for S3 (if the soundtrack is to be trusted):

a. Cow Balloon (who knows what this is, hah)

b. RC Forklift and Boat Race

(Ironically, the forklift race is the only part of the that job I still enjoy, so I'd welcome this kind of nostalgic nod more than driving one for work.)

A mahjong mini game would be great, I love mahjong.
I always wondered if there was supposed to be a Mahjong mini game based on the Mahjong parlor that is in the first game...I'd be down for Mahjong. I'm always down for Mahjong. It's my number one time waste in Yakuza games.

The return of SEGA arcade games would be nice. Would be really cool to have Space Harrier back.

Traditional casino games like black jack, poker, texas hold em', bingo, themed slots etc.

Fantasy arcade cabinet based on MushiKing & Chao Garden, but due to being Sega's intellectual property instead we care for charming chibi Yu Suzukis instead. Collectible codebar cards for different YS species.
And POV fights in vein.

I may be alone in this but as the storyline and games appear to push Ryo into more rural and I assume remote settings, I would love the mini-games and side activities to reflect that reality. Having a modern arcade right in the middle of Cliff Temple would feel off.

That's why I thought herb collecting, wood chopping, and chobu-chan were some of the best additions to Shenmue 3. I would love a new slew of activties in same vein.

Perhaps some sort of musical game? Ryo could meet someone like the Dragon Street musician in Kowloon and have to hit different drums in time as the music gets faster, or something.
