Shining Force
Sonic CD
Comix Zone
Dungeons & Dragons Warriors of the Eternal Sun
NHLPA Hockey 93
Golden Axe
Columns
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario World
Mortal Kombat 2
Rocket Knight Adventures

VectorMan

These are not necessarily my favourite games, but it would be a good variety to keep me busy.
I got a GPD XD a little while back, fantastic little device for on the go emulation, so I got a whole bunch of roms and Comix Zone was one of them, I never played it as a kid and wow I wish I had as it is amazing, such a fun concept. There are so many more I will have missed out on.

Ristar
Streets of Rage 3/Bare Knuckle 3 (preferably the latter, since it's better)
Rocket Knight Adventures
Turtles in Time
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Shinobi 3
Snatcher
Gunstar Heroes
Clock Tower
I have not played any bare knuckle titles but will be sure to check them out (Megadrive?)

Here's 20:

Sonic 3 & Knuckles
OutRunners
Chase HQ
Bonanza Bros.
Bare Knuckle III
Space Harrier
Klax
Road Blasters
Gauntlet
Marble Madness
Earthworm Jim (Special Edition)
Wonder Boy V: Monster World III
Sonic CD
After Burner II
OutRun 2019
Special Criminal Investigation
Super Hang On
Bare Knuckle
Space Harrier II
Monster World IV

To boil it down to X games, take the first X games in the list.

Since I am on a desert island I will choose games that are extremely long or never ending. One game off the top of my head that I can think of:

Starflight- This is an old PC space exploration game that was ported to the Megadrive, it has plenty of stuff to do for an early "sandbox" game, there is no real set path and because of this it has a huge amount of exploration and depth.

Also games that don't really end such as Tetris, Columns, Puyo Puyo etc.
...And, I am sure there would be a 16 bit game of Chess if that counts.
